What we collect, and why.

Ranch Farmers Market is a neighborhood grocery store at 2754 Alpine Blvd, Suite C, Alpine, California. This page says, in plain words, what information reaches us when you use ranchfarmersmarket.com, and what we do with it.
Just browsing
You can read the whole site, including this month's specials, without giving us anything. We do not run advertising trackers or analytics on this site, and we set no cookies.
Like any website, the companies that host it and deliver its lettering (our web host and Google Fonts) receive the technical details every browser sends, such as your internet address and the kind of device you are using.
Ordering delivery
When you place a delivery order we ask for:
- your name,
- your mobile number,
- the address to bring it to, and any note you add for the driver,
- what you ordered.
We use these to check that the address is inside our delivery area, prepare the order, bring it to you, text you when it is received, on its way and delivered, and to keep our sales records.
Your basket is remembered in your own browser until you check out, so it is still there if you come back. It is cleared when you go to pay.
Paying by card
Card payments are taken on a page run by Stripe, our card processor. Your card number goes to Stripe and never passes through or is stored on our systems. What comes back to us is the confirmation that the payment went through, not your card number.
Beer, wine and spirits
You must be 21 or older. If your order includes alcohol, the driver checks your ID at the door. We look at it; we do not copy or keep it.
Who else handles it
We share only what each of these needs to do its part of your order:
- Stripe takes the card payment.
- Twilio sends our text messages to your phone.
- Address look-up services (Google Maps, Photon by Komoot and the U.S. Census Bureau) receive the address you type so we can find it on the map.
- Our driver, who works for the store, sees your name, address, note and order.
We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.
Texts from us
We text only about an order you placed. We do not send marketing texts from the website.
Our pages on Google, Facebook and Instagram
We use an in-house tool, Ranch Playbook, to manage the store's own Google Business Profile, Facebook page and Instagram account: to plan our posts and to read and answer reviews. It signs in only to the store's own accounts. It reads what is already public there, such as a review and the name shown with it, and it does not collect anything from your personal Google, Facebook or Instagram account. Information the tool receives from Google is used only to show and answer the store's own reviews; it is not shared with anyone else or used for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for bookkeeping, taxes and sorting out any problem with an order.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, and we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it. California residents have these rights under state law, and we will not treat you differently for using them.
Children
This website is for adults doing their shopping. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If what we collect changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
